THE WHITE MOUNTAIN SCOUTS AREN’T DEAD YET

Seventeen-year-old Emma was the only girl to sign up for Troop 59 when the Scouts went co-ed years ago. Their camping trip to the White Mountains will be the first trip she leads. Thanks to her recent diagnosis, it might also be her last.

If only they didn’t have to hike with Troop 12 of Deerfield Academy. Private school kids? Emma expects they’ll show up with expensive gear and a snobby attitude.

It turns out Troop 12 also has a girl, the talented Snowden, and Min, the most gorgeous boy she’s ever seen. Both are attracted to the independent streak that often gets Emma into trouble.

When the Scouts leave the trail and their Scoutmaster goes missing, conditions deteriorate. Disoriented, hungry, and stuck with an adult they suspect of foul play, the troops are pitted against each other when they can’t agree on how to save themselves.

Emma doesn’t know what’s scarier: being told she has a heart condition, figuring out her love life, or getting lost in the wilderness with a murderer. But she’s got more living to do, and she’s ready to fight for every moment.
